Sharing our Heritage

Learning about our cultural heritage helps us to affirm our own cultural identity which in turn offers support and security to our way of life in a multicultural world. When young people learn to recognize and appreciate their own cultural heritage, they also learn how to approach other cultures with respect. We teach about all aspects of our cultural heritage such as oral traditions and expressions, including the Garifuna language, performing arts, social customs, rituals and festivities, as well as, knowledge related to natural and traditional handicraft skills.
