Welcome to Rose Hall!

The highest inhabited village in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) is located on the Leeward side of the Island (East of Troumaca and Southwest of Chateaubelair).  With a population density of 1,200, the village is made up of 5 main families from different lineages: Stapleton, Williams, Samuel, Ferdinand, and Richards.

Through its elevation and rugged landscape, Rose Hall has many beautiful views and a varied biodiversity that provides a healthy and natural living. The main industry is farming with the primary crops of tannia, potatoes, yams, dasheen, eddoes, cabbages, carrots, tomatoes and peppers.  The landscape is also dotted with a variety of fruit trees such as mango, guava, coconut, soursop, sugar apple, and more.

Rose Hall is a cooperative community that lives in a peace and togetherness. The natural environment is conducive to a good corporation between inhabitants and is a very welcoming place for foreigners. 

 

 

Rose Hall History

 

Come to Rose Hall!

It is an exceptional place to visit, rich in history and replete of a majestic landscape. The village was once inhabited by Garifuna people and a Holding place for slaves.

Still now we can visit the architectural ruins of arrowroots and sugar cain mills.

 

Rose Hall Cultural and Development Organization is currently working on the Livelihood Project to provide the best services for the community people and host the visitors and tourism in a sustainable living.
