About Rose Hall

 

Welcome to Rose Hall!

It is the highest inhabited village in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) and located on the Leeward side of the Island (East of Troumaca and Southwest of Chateaubelair).  With a population density of 1,200, the village is made up of 5 main families clans from different lineages: Stapleton, Williams, Samuel, Ferdinand, and Richards.

With its elevation and rugged landscape, Rose Hall has many beautiful views and a varied biodiversity that provides a healthy and natural living. The main industry is farming with the primary crops of tannia, potatoes, yams, dasheen, eddoes, cabbages, carrots, tomatoes and peppers.  The landscape is also dotted with a variety of fruit trees such as mango, guava, coconut, soursop, sugar apple, and more.

Come to Rose Hall!

It is an exceptional place to visit, rich in history and replete with a majestic landscape. The village was once inhabited by Garifuna people and a holding place for slaves.

You will be able to walk the footpaths of the Garifuna and see the architectural ruins of arrowroots and sugarcane mills, along with other natural beauties.
