The Council

 

 

 

The Rose Hall Cultural and Development Organization was founded by community members Selwyn Patterson, Hayden Ferdinand, and Walton Samuel in 2006;  and was officially registered as an NGO in 2008. It currently has over 23 active members with a 5 person Executive Committee. As an NGO, we strive to be a model for empowering young people, men and women in our village.

The President

Selwyn Patterson

Former teacher at the Richmond Vale Academy, founder of the Rose Hall Drummers, and co-founder of the RHCDO. He was elected president in 2010 and is responsible for day to day running of meetings and affairs, supervising projects and representing the organization in various official events, leading, guiding, directing, and evaluating the work of other members.

Treasurer

Gilroy Williams

Gilroy oversees all aspects of financial management, working closely with other members of the Management Committee to safeguard the organization's finances.

 

He is the information and reference point for the Chair and other committee members: clarifying financial implications of proposals; confirming legal requirements; outlining the current financial status; and retrieving relevant documentation.

Vice President

Sobrina Patterson

Sobrina is the second in command, and as the youngest, helps provide a link between the older and younger generations.

 

She is pivotal in creating, communicating, and implementing the organization’s vision, mission, and overall direction.

Officer

Corantin Stapleton

Corantin is the principal advisor to important agency organizations and participates in developing and implementing administrative management policies, working with management on planning organizational needs, and preparing plans, goals, objectives, or criteria for management processes.

Public Relations

Walton Samuel

Walton's primary role is liaising with and answering inquiries from media, individuals and other organizations.  He fosters community relations through events such as cultural festivals, sport competitions, music education and involvement in community initiatives.
