Rose Hall Cultural Development Organization
Building sustainable community, spreading art, culture, and heritage.
What We Do
Rose Hall Cultural and Development Organization (RHCDO) is active in many and varied local projects, always with cultural heritage, education, and sustainability at the core of everything we do.
Education
RHCDO welcomes you to come discover our local History. We organize various workshops, from drumming, where people can learn how to play, and even build their own drum; or dance, where
visitors can learn the Maypole, Quadrille and other Garifuna or African dances.
Or take a hike on one of our nature trails. Our guides can help you identify medicinal herbs and will educate you on the benefits and uses of local herbs in cooking, healthy living, and healing.
Events
Rose Hall Culture Fest
Since 2008, the RHCDO has hosted this festival to celebrate the culture and heritage of the North Leeward communities. This normally happens in March to coincide with our National Heroes celebrations. People from all over the island of St. Vincent (SVG) come together in Rose Hall to see and enjoy music, dance, sports competitions, banana competition, donkey race, and more. Rose Hall Light Up
Over the year at Christmas time, the group is participating in the Countries National Lightning up competition. They beautify the village with lights and design made of recycling, natural and local materials like bamboo.
Sustainable Tourism and Community Development

To minimize the impact of humans on the earth, the RHCDO encourages protection of both our cultural heritage and the environment. We provide long-term, socially just economic opportunities for local residents.

In partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), RHCDO developed a sustainable livelihood project plan which to restore the river activities to bring people together.
Environmental Protection

Because Rose Hall is a farming village, we believe in the importance of respecting nature and the environment.
RHCDO educates farmers on organic practices, create cooperatives, and diversify their crops. Rose Hall's aim is for a self-sustainable living.
One past project was to gift 165 fruits trees to the the Rose Hall Primary School to introduce these ideals and awareness to children.
